FAQs

Do I need this service?

Every dispenser of medications needs to register with the FDA and comply with the provisions of the DSCSA including having a database that is interconnected and able to both send and receive data exchanges with the wholesalers and manufacturers of products they purchase. This database must be secure, and provide the ability to receive T3 data and store them safely for a minimum of 6 years. If you have further questions, please check with the FDA. We recommend starting here.

Are there penalties for not having a DSCSA service?

Yes, there can be. The DSCSA is a law passed by Congress and Signed into law by the President. The DSCSA states, “…upon conviction of violations of Federal, State, or local drug laws or regulations, may provide for fines, imprisonment, or civil penalties.”

How long do I need to use this software?

Pharmacies and Dispensers of medication are required to keep all relevant T3 and serialized data for a minimum of 6 years.

Do I need to keep the data if my pharmacy has closed?

Yes, the DSCSA requires pharmacies to keep records for at least 6 years, even if they close.

Do you offer any discounts?

MedTrax offers a number of discounts and promotions. We offer a multi-facility discount, 340b discount and others. Contact us to discuss special pricing options.

Do I need to enter my whole pharmacy inventory?

MedTrax is happy to link your supplier accounts via EDI data transfer so you don’t have to enter any data. Simply verify purchases as they arrive individually or in bulk via our special multi-scan tool.

Do I have to use NRAC for recall alerts?

No, you are welcome to use any recall alert service you would like. However, currently our system is only compatible with NRAC Recall Alert accounts. Please contact us if you are interested in registering for a new NRAC account.

Can I integrate my MedTrax account into my Management System?

Yes, MedTrax is compatible with most pharmacy management systems. Contact us for more information
